sigh

sigh
wail
I can't cope with Mark when he's in this frame of mind, it's bringing me down
I'm sympathetic, and I'd like to be supportive, but i'm so tired and depleted, and just feel like i aint got any spare to give
He's absolutely insistent when he's on a downer that all is awful, that nothing is good, blah blah, and just refuses to accept anything that might help or change how he looks at things. I just feel like he's dumping it on me
and i can't cope!!

Re: sigh
Oh sweetie I dunno what to say. I think you are gonna have to tell him that he is putting too much pressure on you and that he has to understand that in your current state of mind you just arent able to deal with everything being piled on you like this.

Re: sigh
Aw hon I really do know how you feel.
MrW has been under so much pressure lately and I feel like I'm giving Atlas a hand to keep the world propped up. I can't get down there with him or I'll have a relapse myself.
My CPN gave me some useful advice and that was to have a certain time on one day for each of us to get everything off our chests and have a bloody good moan. For us it's Saturday lunchtime. When he starts on a downer mid week I just remind him to keep it until Saturday. I'm not sure how that will work for you if you only see each other at weekends, but I hope it helps.

Re: sigh
i'll give it a try pauline.. not sure how well he'll keep to it cos it almost spills out of him... he'll start off, then he'll stop himself, saying something like i promised i wouldn't go on about it, and then he starts again a minute later
HOWEVER, we had a gorgeous weekend just gone, felt like something had shifted a bit so i'm a happy bunny again!! It's just been a bit of a crappy year for both of us, and he's under a lot of stress.
Like the Atlas analogy!!! Has Mr W's stress fits been better since trying it out?
